The Programme is developed along five different strategic lines:
Five themes that cross and link the activities organised into four large sub-programmes, in constant dialogue with each other:
The application Dossier and special events | The pilot project and the contemporary workshops represent the paradigm of Parma 2020 and, by mixing heritage, culture and international creativity, are developed through exhibitions, installations, productions, workshops, special openings, conferences, music and open calls, staged throughout ancient places and contemporary hubs. Together, they shape Parma 2020’s idea and its cultural project, they beat time of creating culture and making future.
The energy of our territory | From the Lowlands to the Apennines, “Parma Nation”, as Attilio Bertolucci called it, is developing over 150 activities, thanks to the participation of Municipalities, the Province, the Dioceses, businesses and associations, each with its own distinct cultural value, in order to give shape to Parma 2020’s vision and cultural metaphor.
The University | A broad-ranging programme dedicated to spreading knowledge and sharing expertise, developed in four strategic themes: culture, democracy, innovation and sustainability. This programme makes available to society new scientific and cultural paths, new venues and means of communications, aiming to seeing active participation of the community in the outcome of the research, in which memory and invention blend together.
Emilia 2020 | Parma 2020 is a great promotional opportunity also with regard to the wide tourist network encompassing Parma, Piacenza and Reggio Emilia, the three cities that make up Emilia Tourist Destination, providing the chance to set up an organised system of the cities’ cultural offer and to boost their visibility and strengths.
WARNING - Due to the arrangements provided by ministerial decree in force from 09 March to 03 April, the events planned for Parma 2020 are currently suspended and the program is being redefined.
