The halls of the modern museum will become a real atlas of fashion in history. On display, from China, liturgic gowns of the Taoist tradition as well as female shoes typical of the Great Empire. From Indonesia, shawl of the Batak culture from the Sumatra island and traditional male dresses. And again, from Japan Haori jackets in silk, female Kimonos and Obis for married women; from Sudan, skullcaps, shoes and tribal booties; from Ghana, ceremonial fabrics in silk of the Ashanti tribes; from Burkina Faso a traditional gown made of a tunic and trousers; from Bangladesh the Burqa of the Muslim women from Bengala and jewelry sets; from Camerun the Kweyma KJella collars and the ankle braces in aluminum decorated with bird heads, a wide collection also from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The corner dedicated to the Amazonian populations is surprising: the entire decorative dowry of the Kayapò population will be on display, in a wonderful stream of feathers and vegetal fabrics.
Thanks to the outfits and ornaments it is easy to understand, for every population, whose tribe they belong to, which social status or ethnic group are in. The outfits are a real form of codified communication, easily understandable at any social level and at the Chinese Art museum of Parma it will be possible to read many stories.
