The city becomes an open-air stage in which different human typologies, from the most conventional and accepted to the most nonconformist, come to life in different urban contexts, through the arias of some of the most emblematic Verdi protagonists of the famous popular trilogy. A contemporary Rigoletto reduced to asking for alms at the station, a modern Violetta waiting at the airport for a flight that will take her to a better life, or a modern Azucèna, an eternal exile forced to migrate from city to city, looking for her place in a world that often ignores it.
“New” characters, often marginalized, different, misunderstood, or idealized, stereotyped, always according to well-defined social conventions. An artistic action that can act on the urban fabric with the specific intent of "wearing down" the number one enemy of contemporary society: prejudice.
Induce an active reflection on the importance and beauty of diversity, as that fundamental value of contemporaneity that must be welcomed, protected and nurtured. Guerrilla Verdi is an urban performance that, in a period of forced social distancing, wants to break down those far more abysmal distances, which arise from the fear of the other, of what is different from us and that we often prefer not to consider. Verdi's extraordinary music can break this invisibility by reconstructing a bond between man and man, opening a dialogue precisely with the citizens, with those who live in the city.
