Four Sacred Pieces on the Balkan Route

A show born from the strong need to tell the condition of man, of some men and women in particular, in the face of the immensity of the sea and the indifference of the rest of humanity. To give substance to their real stories - important testimonies of migrants, refugees, asylum seekers in the camps that are on the border between Greece and Turkey, during the Covid19 pandemic, hostage to political negotiations between Turkey and Europe. Their voices become religious or secular prayers, they scream to the stars. The sacred pieces represent the struggle of a man against the unknown that lies beyond death: three pieces dedicated to the Virgin Mary (to whom Verdi gives his life after death, even though he is not sure that there is life after death) and a prayer to God, the Te Deum, which closes with a solitary soprano voice that seems to launch its own request to God, but without getting an answer.

The audience equipped with wireless headphones and sitting in the wonderful Peace Square, through the spatialization of sound, will find themselves immersed in these stories, on the island of Lesbos, in the field of Moria, or simply sitting next to someone asking questions to the sky , sharing the wait for the answers and the doubt, if the evoked visions were true or fruit of our mind.
