The tours of Food Valley Travel

These tours take visitors to discover the Food Valley, together with the club Parma city of Gastronomy.
There are two different tours of the territory, among the Southern hills, the North West "low" land  and in the historical center of Parma.

The Highlander group tour from Parma
Duration: 5 hours ½ Type of tour: with transportation included, shared small group tour (up to approx 15 participants)
Availability: Tuesday – Thursday – Saturday (from March 3rd to November 28th 2020)
Departure time: 8.45am from Piazza Garibaldi in front of the tourist office of Parma
Time limit for booking online: 72 hours in advance (for last minute requests call the local tourist office by 6:45pm of the day before (+39 0521218889) or write to: turismo@comune.parma.it)
The tour will not take place on: 25th april – 1st may – 2nd june – 15th august

Cancellation policy: - No fee up to 8 days before the starting day; - From 7 days to 3 days before the tour starting date: 50% penalty; - 48 hours' notice: 70% penalty; - 24 hours' notice: 100% penalty.
What's included: · Private transportation by car/minivan/minibus with English speaking driver · Owners as guides on site at the different locations (no guide on board) · Tastings at the cheese dairy and at the Balsamic Vinegar producer’s · Tasting/lunch at the ham producer’s · Special “Food Valley” gift
What's not included: · Everything not mentioned in the inclusions. 
Prices: 1 person € 190,00 from 2 to 8 people € 95,00 per person
Program: · 8.45am: departure from Parma towards the “Highlands" · 9.00am: meeting on site with a local host and visit to an authentic cheese dairy of Parmigiano-Reggiano PDO · 10.30am: transfer to the Province of Reggio-Emilia to admire a real “Acetaia” with its ancient barrels of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar PDO · 12.15/30pm: back to the province of Parma to visit a real Prosciutto di Parma PDO producer · 2.00pm: end of activities and head back to Parma. You will learn how the real farm to table concept works · to follow: welcome at Antica Corte Pallavicina, a medieval court where you’ll admire a brand new Museum of Culatello di Zibello PDO · if you feel like it, follow the final open-air path called Po Forest along the banks of Po river with various points of environmental interest · Tasting session/lunch at the end of the visit with a large selection of farm products including: Culatello di Zibello PDO, Salame Gentile, Strolghino di Culatello, lard and Cotto Spigaroli (cooked ham), giardiniera (pickled vegetables), homemade focaccia, all this paired with 2 different wines: dry Lambrusco and Fortana del Taro · 1.30pm: transfer to Busseto, the town of Giuseppe Verdi, for a guided visit of the amazing little theatre dedicated to this amazing composer · to follow: free time for a stroll in this typical charming little town of the Lowlands of Northern to discover its tiny food delis and its hidden corners · 3.00pm: end of activities and back to Parma.
